a different approach to weight management
You probably already know a lot about what you "should" be doing. The challenge is often putting that knowledge into practice consistently, especially during stress, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, or changes in routine.
My approach focuses on helping you understand the why behind your behaviors so we can work toward sustainable change. Therapy may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and behavior-change strategies depending on your needs.
As a therapist with experience in behavioral weight management and training in disordered eating, I take a disordered-eating-informed approach to weight loss counseling. This means we can work toward your health and weight-related goals while also paying attention to your relationship with food, movement, and your body.
The goal is not perfection. It is to help you develop a healthier, more flexible relationship with food, movement, and yourself.
who is this for?
Weight loss counseling may be a good fit if you:
-
Feel like you repeatedly lose and regain weight
-
Know what to do but struggle to stay consistent
-
Turn to food when you are stressed, sad, bored, or overwhelmed
-
Feel guilty after eating certain foods
-
Have spent years cycling through diets
-
Feel frustrated with your body or progress
-
Want support alongside medical or nutritional weight-management care
-
Want to make changes without becoming consumed by food or weight

Hi, I'm Samantha!
about me.
While on my path to becoming a therapist, I made a few meaningful stops along the way.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in business and the fitness industry, experiences that shaped the way I see health and healing today. They taught me that our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being are deeply connected.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. I strive to create a space where you can show up exactly as you are while helping you build the tools and confidence to move forward.
I'm so glad you're here, and I look forward to being part of your journey.
I earned my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johnson & Wales University and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) in Rhode Island. My clinical training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and other evidence-based approaches. I believe growth is a lifelong process and regularly pursue continuing education to better support my clients.
